Although it looks like this is a picture of L425 (51405, 59515 & 51363) calling at Hanborough station, it is in fact passing through at high speed, as when this picture was taken (1 May 1982) few trains called at was then a very little used station. The train is the 2A29 13:30 service from Hereford, which as this was a Saturday, terminated at Reading. On weekdays it would continue on to Paddington. The diminutive bungalow on the right has since been demolished, and the area is now dominated by a huge car showroom. |
