Reading and Bristol allocated Class 117s were common on the Cotswold Line in the 1980s, including set B431. However, by 1988 B431 had become Tyseley set T306 (51411, 59521 & 51369), and as such would have been much rarer on the Cotswold Line. There were occasional appearances, and on 27 March 1988, T306 was pictured accelerating away from Moreton-in-Marsh with the 2A76 15:30 Great Malvern to Oxford service. This being a Sunday, this was the first up train of the afternoon.
